Whether you are looking for your first home or are in the market for your next, buying your home is supposed to be fun and pleasurable for you. All too frequently that does not happen. At times it turns into a real hassle and going thru the mortgage process can become painful. My clients don't experience that. I tell them that the most difficult part of the process for them will be finding the home they really want. Applying for the mortgage itself is next. Once they have applied for the mortgage, their work with the financing is over. From that point on their main focus is to pack up and get ready to move. Let my processor and me take care of everything connected with the mortgage. That is our job. And we are very good at it. Yes, there will be a closing. This is the formal event where they legalize their purchase. However from the mortgage perspective this is a non event where they are just signing the papers confirming the terms of the mortgage they desired. When mortgage rates drop and it may be appropriate to refinance a mortgage, my clients just let me know that they want to know if refinancing is right for them. We review their situation and determine whether it would be worthwhile for them to refinance. If it is, we take the application. My processor and I then do all the work necessary to obtain the mortgage. The only additional work necessary for my clients is to finalize the refinancing at closing. After closing on a purchase or the refinancing of an existing mortgage, I follow up periodically with my clients to find out how things are going and if I can help them with any mortgage issues that may arise.
