I am pleased to be working as a Senior Loan Officer with 1st Advantage Mortgage, a Draper and Kramer Company. I began my professional career as an architect at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in 1985 after graduating from the University of Notre Dame. After becoming a Licensed Architect, I transitioned into real estate development, working for BCE/Brookfield Development and Miglin-Beitler. This experience led me to work for the General Services Administration assisting in the selection of architects for its new Federal court house building program. I concluded my public sector career as Deputy Commissioner for the Bureau of Real Estate Management at the City of Chicago.
From the beginning, I invested in real estate and came to realize that my greatest passion was in real estate finance and investing. After years of investing, I saw that poor mortgage advice and lack of lending scenario creativity caused me to lose out on opportunities and substantial profits. I decided to pursue a career in residential real estate finance in 2001, and have been happy to be assisting people in financing their homes and investment properties since.
Of the different types of places that offer mortgages, I have chosen to work here because:
• I can be both a Mortgage Banker and a Mortgage Broker. As a Banker, our company funds our own loans, resulting in lower rates and fees, as well as quick turn times. As a Broker, I have access to many lending programs to offer multiple loan scenario options. I am able to offer more options than most banks can offer.
• I believe that being a lender independent of other service providers enables me to look out for my clients' best interests and ensure the objectivity of a third party.
• I have access to the most advanced technology in the mortgage industry. My clients enjoy the convenience of working with me directly online, from start to finish. I also enjoying working with my clients and referral partners in person, and work according to each one's personal preference.
